Regina Paulose

International Criminal Law Attorney

Regina Paulose obtained her J.D. from Seattle University School of Law and her LLM in International Crime and Justice from the University of Torino/UNICRI. She has been a practicing attorney since 2004. She presents and publishes on topics related to international criminal law, transnational crimes, and responses to mass atrocities. Her publications can be found here. She has participated on two different people's tribunals and is the editor of the 2019 volume People's Tribunals, Human Rights, and the Law: Searching for Justice. She currently serves as Chair of the World Peace through Law Section of the Washington State Bar Association and Co-Chair of the International Refugee Law Committee of the American Bar Association.

Armenian Genocide: Lessons learned or repeated?

This presentation will examine the events that took place which led up to the Armenian genocide. Using some of the nuanced events from the Armenian genocide, this presentation will then focus on recent genocides and whether there are similar factors present in the situations that have taken place or are taking place and what is being done or what is being neglected as a result of these factors. This presentation will also focus on justice mechanisms and how they have responded as a result of the factors that are or have presented themselves.
